Everton turned down Manchester United’s “unacceptable” £35million opening offer for Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Toffees value Branthwaite at £70m, despite reports that United agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old defender.

The centre-back emerged as one of the Red Devils’ priority targets during the summer transfer window.

As such the Merseysiders will demand a premium for the England international amid concerns over their compliance with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson has allegedly told the club he is considering leaving, just a year after penning a new long-term deal.

According to The Athletic, Nelson's time at the Emirates could be coming to an end as his game-time has been limited over the past season.

After making just one Premier League start, the winger is now weighing-up his future.

And the 24-year-old has allegedly informed manager Mikel Arteta as well as club chiefs of his intention to “assess” his options before returning to pre-season.

Cunha could be 'missing link'

Wolves striker Matheus Cunha might be Manchester United's "missing link".

That's the claim of ex-Old Trafford attacker Louis Saha after the Brazilian's first full season in the Premier League.

Cunha notched 12 goals and seven assists after following a loan spell from Atletico Madrid with a permanent switch last summer.

Viktor Gyokeres’ Premier League admirers have been hit by Sporting Lisbon standing rock solid behind their £85million valuation of the Sweden striker.

Ex-Spurs wonderkid joins sixth-tier club

Tottenham academy product Shaq Coulthirst has signed for sixth-tier side Maidstone.

Striker Coulthirst, 29, made hisSpursdebut in December 2013, replacing Roberto Soldado in a 4-1 Europa League win over Anzhi Makhachkal.

At the time, he was battling withHarry Kanefor a place in Spurs' squad, with the nowEnglandcaptain one year older than him.

Coulthirst had already made a name for himself at age group level having scored a hat-trick for the U19s againstBarcelonain a 4-1 victory in 2012.

Just seven goals in 43 appearances saw him depart after two seasons, before he went on to have spells with Barnet, Borenham Wood, Billericay and Ebbsfleet.

Now he has penned a deal with National League South side Maidstone for next season following a loan spell with Braintree where he scored 11 in 29 matches. In the eight years since leaving Spurs, Coulthirst has scored 55 goals in 215 club appearances.
