Great conversation on the ‘Now of Work’, with my favourite pointers: Perimenopause is a societal issue, not a women's issue. We’ve never had more women in the workplace over 40, yet many women are retiring around the age of 51 across multiple industries…. What can you do to retain women? Georgie Drury Many well-being programs have failed because outcomes aren’t measured - start with something: trial, measure, iterate. Ryan McGrory Some organisations are still operating as traditional HR with no human element… get to know your people. Tracy Redwood Great conversation hosted by Emma Egan 🚀Sophie Hart Claire Jones (on Guringai Land) #thethrivingworkplace

What a night celebrating women in the construction industry at the Women in Industry awards. We listened to the achievements of women across energy, construction, engineering and transport who are making seismic shifts in a male-dominated industry, paving the way for the younger female generation, because ‘you can’t be what you can’t see’.Proud to be flanked by Angela Hucker, one of this years’ finalist and Giselle Phillips, one of last years winners! It was wonderful so see so much support for women in an industry that is in desperate need of attracting more female talent.#diversity #womeninconstruction #inclusion EPIC - Empowering People In Construction triiyo

Fabulous discussion on work life design hosted by Gill McLaren Top takeaways:Ask yourself “How do I get the life I want? What might be possible if I let go of xyz?” And in your workplace … stop making excuses for the life you’re building Tara McCarthy “Treat yourself like someone you love” incredible heart-led conversation by Bella Stevens who thrives with cystic fibrosis and coaches others to optimal health and fitness.Cassandra Goodman acknowledged that there’s so much human suffering at work, to create a workplace where people thrive we must treat others with more kindness, care and compassion. As an employee you need to “know your non-negotiables” and that “accountability starts with you”.You can also love what you do, but you also must love who you are when you’re doing it.Professor Ross Iles bought stats in and acknowledged that women find it much harder to achieve work life design. So many golden nuggets at #thethrivingworkplace thanks Claire Jones (on Guringai Land) and Sophie Hart for bringing so many leaders together to discuss the head/heart dynamic.

Thriving workplaces create thriving businesses. For 2 days next week I’ll be learning from experts about how to create a workplace where people can thrive.Amongst many other topics, discussions are centred around how we can combine both the head and the heart for a holistic approach to leadership and culture change. And not a moment too soon. Our current status of always-on, over worked people and under resourced teams is creating environments where burnout is at an all time high and mental health worse than ever. It’s time to change. But how?Our working world is evolving because our current ways of working are unsustainable.Join The Serenity Collective their thought leaders and your peers to explore what the new way of human-centred workplaces looks like, how it will benefit your organisation (bottom line) and walk away with a toolkit of ideas.Workplaces powered by human connection is in our DNA, which is why triiyo is a partner too. 💫 WHAT MAKES A GOOD INTERIM CONSULTANT? 💫 With ongoing economic concerns and many companies continuing to make redundancies, we're speaking to many consultants who are inbetween permanent roles and are considering contracting in the interim. In this #strategybites podcast Anika Stokes talks to Mailys Pauletto, a seasoned interim strategy consultant about what she sees as skills and attitude that make a great consultant. If you're considering the contracting space, here are her two key pointers on what makes a great interim consultant: 🎇 Work ethic – it is obvious to a client when someone is just there to get in and get out and earn their $$. 👥 Collaboration – You may only be there for a short amount of time but co-creating is still essential for you to be seen as part of the team. I would also add: 🏅 Reliability - committing to the contract and seeing it through to the end, you are your brand. 📢 Communication - clear communication and regular updates both during and in between contracts so you're well supported. Contracting does require a shift in mindset, and you need to be comfortable with periods of down time in between contracts, but these periods are often the reason consultants' step into the interim space - to enjoy a more balanced work-life. If you're interested in the contracting space, listen to this episode to explore whether contracting is an option for you. And, if you're a management consultant keen to explore this space, please DM me or Rachel Quick to book a time to talk. You can listen to the full episode by clicking the links in the comments or search strategy bites podcast in your favourite app.#interim #strategyconsultants #podcast

82% of women report experiencing imposter syndrome."This is structural inequality, not individual inadequacy."This is a great speech by Reshma Saujani on why women shouldn't let imposter syndrome hold them back.Have you heard about bicycle face? Fascinating 'disease' that stemmed from attempts by men to curtail women's freedom in the 1890's, because back then, bicycles enabled women to travel further and faster = freedom. Well worth 14 minutes, speed up to x1.25 for those short on time :)PS: don't stop pedalling!https://lnkd.in/g6axAZU4
