🚨Health Alert: Northern Ireland's Challenge 🚨Did you know that in Northern Ireland, 27% of our population lives with obesity, and 5%—that's about 94,000 individuals—are navigating the double hurdle of obesity and mental health issues? Furthermore, all five of Northern Ireland's health trusts have missed their 13-week target for treating people with mental illness. These aren't just statistics; they represent our friends, families, and communities who need comprehensive care and support. This is a call to action to bring these issues into the light and push for meaningful change.👥 We're listening and want to hear from YOU.#PublicHealth #NorthernIrelandStats #MentalHealthAwareness #ObesityChallenge

I was thrilled to return to Dundalk Institute of Technology to celebrate 21 years of the MBS course in Entrepreneurship! 🎉 This program, which I completed while pregnant, offered a much-needed break from the COVID chaos and clinic days. One highlight was participating in business simulations with students from Heilbronn University in the Austrian mountains. This intense yet refreshing experience felt like an Apprentice-style challenge and provided a personal retreat.Special thanks to Maeve McArdle Ph.D for her mentorship and insights on social marketing. This program helped shape my current PhD research, focusing on the biopsychosocial dimensions of digital health for supporting obesity and mental health communication.I highly recommend this course to graduates, entrepreneurs, and business owners. Happy 21st birthday to the MBS Entrepreneurship & Marketing! 🥳Limited spots are available: https://lnkd.in/egbm4TJs#dkit #MBS #alwayslearning

Throwback to an incredible experience at the #ICIC24 conference on integrated care in Belfast! One of the highlights was networking and making friends with brilliant minds from around the world. I had the pleasure of meeting Tabitha, a pharmacist researcher from the outback of Australia 🇦🇺 Despite her 37 hour journey and jetlag, her sense of humour and shared passion for storytelling with AI characters made for unforgettable conversations ✨Since #ICIC24, our work on digitally supporting physical and mental health has advanced significantly. It's fascinating to see the ongoing efforts worldwide to improve integrated #healthcare. 🌎Looking forward to sharing more updates soon on our progress in addressing #Stigma, #HolisticHealth, #Obesity, and #MentalHealth through innovative digital solutions.#Digital #Healthcare #Communication #Research #Innovation #Progress #Networking

When I started out on my research, I had a real Disneyland view that everyone would share my post, tag their friends, and I’d gather lots of data from social media channels alone. The truth is, many health professionals are wary of social media, unsure how to use it, concerned about perceptions, and prefer just to scroll. My best results have come from direct emails and connecting with people in person at events.Today, I spoke to someone from a leading workplace wellbeing company. Voicing my frustrations with social media recruitment, I asked: “How do you find and recruit clients?”They responded: “People usually find us when it’s too late. They call us saying, ‘Annie from HR just lost her life by suicide. Now we’d like to do something to help support our team.’”That’s so sad. Let’s focus on #prevention. There are great solutions out there. My research is looking at how health professionals use digital technology to support people with obesity and mental health issues. I am surveying Health Pros and the General Public. Tell me about what you think works? #MentalHealth #WorkplaceWellbeing #Prevention #MentalHealthAwareness #CollaborationFlorence Mazy

🌟 Enjoyed attending the Mental Health Reform #Innovation Showcase at Dogpatch Labs in #Dublin. An inspiring experience to network with like-minded individuals, all passionate about #mentalhealth. The event emphasised that collaboration, research engagement, and user-led design are essential in understanding how best to support mental health. Great take on the power of using AI responsibily and productively, to actually implement data in practice 💡We also explored the feasibility of implementing innovative tech solutions while considering costs, budget constraints, user skills, and tech fatigue.LOL at Ivan Cooper at The Wheel and his take on “frenemies,” when friends end up competing for that pot of funding 😂What’s on your #Tech Wish List for supporting Mental Health? Comment or share insights in my research survey ✨#Collaboration#MentalHealthInnovation #TechForGood #UserLedDesign #DigitalWellbeing #Networking #MentalHealthSupport #InclusiveInnovationUlster University
